We bought our Christmas Tree about 4 years ago. Before we were married, before we were even engaged. We had gone to visit my Grandparents right after Christmas and went into town to do some "bargain" shopping. I saw my my tree in a box all by itself...and thought that one day C might actually propose...and we would probably need a Christmas tree. So, I did what any self-respecting (having dated for nearly 4 years) girl would do. I begged.
I consider myself a "shop it into existence" girl. I bought home decor before I had my own place - I've been known to buy an outfit that that's too small (on sale, of course) for the day that I'm finally skinny enough to wear it - I have seriously considered buying a couple of really cute baby girl outfits...for well, you know - and I bought a Christmas tree before I had a place to put it. It worked....not quickly, mind you. But 3 years after I bought it...it finally came out of the box.
I'm still working on this year's decor, but here is the tree last year: It's 6 1/2 feet, pre-lit. After MUCH thought, I just decided to go with lime green, dark red and pearl white ornaments. It was like Sophie's choice on the ornament aisle at Hobby Lobby. I came up with just about every color combination possible...but in the end I liked this one the best. I am thinking about shopping the after Christmas sale's this year for some of those other possibilities....let's just say I'm shopping a house with more room into existence!! (let's pray that doesn't take 3 years!)
I didn't buy that many "extra" ornaments...so the tree looked a little bare. I did get a few silver charm ornaments and some sparkly words and stuff, which you can kind of see below.
Dalton came over to check out the tree right after we put it up. Love that kiddo. Look how small he looks.
Growing up, my Grandparent's always gave us a Hallmark ornament every year. This past year, C and I got our first one together. It says "new home". Cute!!
She also got us this one. Not technically our first Christmas together....but our first one as husband and wife.
I have a thing for pattern...so I nearly go crazy with the wrapping paper aisle at Hobby Lobby. I try to do matchy matchy...and I absolutely LOVE wrapping gifts.
This is my Mom and Stepdad's tree last year. I didn't add any ribbon or anything to my tree last year...but I like the look of it...I think I might need to do that this year. Any suggestions?
When I was looking for these pics in my December photo file...I found these. Every year on Christmas Eve, my Dad's family gets together for a little party. My Dad, brother and sister alway pose for family shots. I have so many of these....but here are last years.
How cute are my siblings? I mean, really!
Sisters and Dad. Can you tell we are related?
