I can't believe it is already the 6th of December...and the day is almost over! The days are just zipping by and ... like always ... I don't feel like I am getting everything accomplished that I would like!
This morning...I thought I was really going to be on top of things. I woke up at 5:30 and could not go back to sleep...(crazy...as I had just gone to bed about 3:30). Anyway...I cleaned the kitchen, ate breakfast, did some laundry, worked on a few designs...and made a gigantic to-do list.
And...at about 11:15, I could barely move I was tired. So, I took a nap. Ha.
I wanted to share a couple of fun things we have done lately.
Last Friday, we picked up Dalton from daycare and hung out with him for a while. We had to drive him by this house in town that is ... well, quite festive....
It's like a beacon of light in that neighborhood! Lot's and lots of stuff going on....
C and I had drove by about a week ago and noticed them putting everything out...I think there was like 5 adults wiring and setting everything up. Lots of people drive by and stop to look at it. Crazy!
They have music playing and some of the lights are set to the music. It's really kind of neat. I mean, we would probably never do anything like it...but it's fun to have a house in town that does...
I don't think Dalton was quite as fascinated by it as we were. He was like "oh yeah, cool"...and that was it! Kids! He told me tonight that he wanted to go caroling....but that instead we always go look at lights. Where does he get this stuff? Do people go caroling? I'm pretty sure nobody wants me singing at their front door!
Last night we drove out to the town our church is in (just one town over) and went to the parade of lights and tree lighting ceremony. Some of the choir from our church was singing, and we thought that would be fun.
It was SO cold. I swear it was snowing while we were out! Luckily there is a Starbucks on the way and we both found gloves in the car/purse (I still think it is hilarious that I found an old pair of my gloves in my purse...should probably clean that thing out!).
We got to the park, parked and ran across the park (in total darkness) just in time for the parade to start. It wasn't the Macy's Day Parade or anything but it was a bunch of kids from the schools/dance teams/cub scouts/etc...and the floats were all so cute. It was "Santas Workshop" theme...
Pretty hard to get any good shots when it was dark outside. Also, I was shaking so hard from cold. Looked like I was dancing....
Cute stuff!
Love the little train...
There were no people on this float. They must have abandoned ship...smart!!!
Right after the last float passed us, we ran back across the park, got in the Jeep and drove a few blocks to downtown. Just in time for the tree-lighting ceremony!
Such a fun (super cold!) time. We love the little town our church is in. The population is about 18,000, which is about 38,000 LESS than the town we currently live in...and about 350,000 LESS than my hometown. I never ever thought I would be a small town girl...but this town is definitely growing on me!
We put the tree up last night (finally!). And the cat...he has been a TERROR ... he climbs the tree, eats the branches and jacks up the lights. Ugh. He's on my last nerve today! I just know one morning we are going to come out of the bedroom and the tree is going to be laying on the ground....though I pray (for mine and the cat's sake) that doesn't happen!
Off to try and finish some more things on that to-do list...
