I think one of the easiest ways to sort of reset and recharge...is to go beyond yourself...and to help someone else. Today, Kelly is hosting a link up for our favorite charities
There are so many wonderful organizations out there...and I am excited to go through and read more about everyone else's favorite places to volunteer or give to. But, I thought it would also be fun to share one of my favorites.
I was first introduced to Operation Christmas Child during a Chapel service at DBU my first year. They showed a video and I just sat their and bawled. You can check out their YouTube channel and watch all the videos...they are just so sweet...and really showcase the great work of the organization.
I didn't grow up in a wealthy home by any means...but Lord knows we have far more than we will ever need. And, it just breaks my heart that there are kids everywhere that wake up to no toys or gifts on Christmas morning....or any day for that matter.
Basically, you pack a shoe box (or similar size container) full of goodies for a child in the age bracket you select (and you can select girl or boy). We try to do several each year...and have always enjoyed picking out things that the children will need (socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc) as well as fun things to play with (coloring books, baby dolls, games, etc).
I've always loved wrapping gifts and these are some of my favorites to package up every year!!

Operation Christmas Child is great! I've been privileged to participate with my physical therapy classmates this year and last year! It's fun to select the gifts! I look forward to finding out where my box goes! Last year my gifts went to India. Thanks for sharing this great charity!
