52 books :: a new goal

I finally finished up several of the books I had tried to start earlier this year. They were all good, but for whatever reason, I just couldn't get in to them the first couple of times I tried to start them.

I had read several of the stories on Jen's blog, but she is hilarious. She has a fiction book coming out in January...and I'm excited to read that next year! 

This is the 2nd in the Lizzy/Diesel stories. I think I liked the first one (Wicked Appetite) better, but these are cute, easy reads. 

Last Christmas, my Aunt and I were talking about books and she mentioned a series she had just finished and thought I would enjoy. She bagged all 6 of the books up for me and sent me on my way. 

As you know, Christmas is just a couple of weeks away and I still hadn't read the books. I had read the first chapter of the first book about 5 times. But, I don't think I could bare the embarrassment of not having them read when we go over there this Christmas, so I started the first book again, vowing to read 2 chapters. And...I finished it later that day. 

Yes, young adult vampire drama at it's best. And, I'm hooked. I'm almost done with the 2nd book and wish I would have read them earlier.

So, I'm at 25 books read this year, and there just happens to be 6 books in the series (5 more) so I'm adjusting my goal to 30 books. I'm a little bummed that I am not going to complete my original goal, but I figure it's still about 2.5 books a month. Not bad, I guess.

Of course, this probably explains why my house is never clean.
